Quercetin is part of a class of powerful polyphenol phytochemicals known as bioflavonoids.
It is naturally present in fruit, vegetables and herbs and in coffee, green tea and wine. Quercetin levels in food (100gm) range from apples (4mg), blueberries (11mg), chili pepper (30mg), red onions (45mg). Quercetin is also found naturally in high amounts in the flowers of the Sophora japonica tree (also known as the pagoda tree) and we use this natural extract in our product.
While quercetin is found in many foods, the amounts present and its bioavailability can vary, which is why we have developed our liposomal formulation to optimise bioavailability.
One serving (15ml) of this supplement provides 500mg of quercetin. To get the same amount of quercetin from foods, you would need to eat 12.5kg of apples or 4kg of blueberries or just over 1kg of red onions!

Regular quercetin supplements have poor bioavailability meaning the amount of quercetin that can be absorbed and used to support your health is limited. Some studies have shown that only 2% of regular quercetin is absorbed.
With liposomal technology, the quercetin is placed inside liposomes. Liposomes are tiny, ball-shaped delivery vehicles with a water-soluble centre surrounded by a phospholipid bilayer. This bilayer is similar to that found in the cell membranes which surround the cells in your body.
The liposomes protect the quercetin from degradation in the harsh environment of the digestive system and when they reach the small intestine, the liposomes are absorbed into the circulation. Once the liposomes arrive at the cells in your body, the phospholipid bilayers of the liposomes and cell membranes merge and the quercetin is subsequently released into the cell.
Simply put, with Liposomal Quercetin, optimum absorption and cell delivery ensures you get the best every time.
